Ways ELEE has been busy bees working with our children in Lee county.
One class of Broadway Elementary Art teacher Wendy Bryant got a sweet surprise one Monday from EnvironmentaLee member Terica Luxton.
Ms Luxton, an avid flower enthusiast, demonstrated flower pressing and instructed the students on a variety of processes to create art from nature. Each student used a discarded phone book to set up a flower press and produced a card using pressed daffodils, hydrangeas, onion skin, and banana peel.
Ms. Luxton wants to Thank Arlene Jackson for arranging this class. Also thank her and Marsha Ligon for helping with the class too! It was so much fun!
to see more pictures from this class go to Lee Co School Facebook page here.
Also a special Thanks to Floral Designs By Eddie of Sanford for donating flowers to press in our Upcycled telephone books!

Hi all , We wrote Deep River School and asked if we could donate "Nature Air Filters" to the classrooms.
They said "Yes" !
BradLee helped his Nana make nice information cards for the classes too. We delivered them on a teacher's work day.
We brought 30 airplane plants and snake plants for every class in the school !
We hope kids will learn to appreciate how Nature takes care of Us if we take care of it !
We found some really cool water activities for kids here at the EPA site
Feel free to send us your finished pictures to share here too.

Help us "Face the Environmental Bullies "
Some of you may want to speak out against the threats to our local Environmental issues . Here are some ways YOU CAN HELP !
1) You are never too young to speak up for Your environment.
We welcome you to come with Your parents and stand up with us at our future rallies . Come to our meetings and learn about "What is happening around us like ... 8 million Tons of Coal ash to be Dumped in Lee county , Fracking coming to NC , Quarries TOO close to People!" .
Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, is the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at a high pressure in order to fracture shale rocks to release natural gas inside.
